Phoron

Phoron means a collection of spices used to add aroma to food. To apply Phoron at the start of a cooking, take a little edible oil in a pan, heat it, and sprinkle the said spices on the oil. Stir till the spices are fried, and stop before they turn black. It is after this process that vegetables or the main cooking items are added to the pan for cooking.
How much spices to put in a phoron? If you are cooking in such an amount as to fill up a one-litre container, apply one tea-spoonful of spices.
